THE   PITCHER PLANT
of
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR

The Pitcher Plant is an insectivorous (feeds on insects) plant .

A primary reason for such exotic behavior is that Pitcher Plants have adapted to living in nutrient-poor environments such as acidic bogs and marshlands.

Did you know?...

The Pitcher Plant was declared the Provincial Flower of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1954.
